If you run a WooCommerce store, you know that video sells. But video shot on a phone or pulled from an AI generator often looks soft, pixelated, or just not sharp enough for a polished product page. In 2026, customers expect crisp, professional visuals. A blurry video can make even a great product look cheap.

The solution is video upscaling. Instead of reshooting or relying on heavy desktop software, you can use an AI-powered upscaler to enhance resolution and detail in minutes. This guide walks you through a practical workflow using the Van Gogh Studio (FreeVideoGenerator) Video Upscaler, so you can turn mediocre footage into sharp, conversion-ready product videos.

Why Upscale WooCommerce Videos?

Product videos on WooCommerce serve several purposes: hero banners, product detail pages, social ads, and email campaigns. Each of these benefits from higher resolution and clarity. Upscaling can:

Improve perceived product quality
Make text and logos in the video legible
Enhance details for zoomed-in views
Prepare footage for larger displays or ads

While you could manually re-edit or use traditional upscaling software, AI upscalers are faster and often produce better results by intelligently adding detail. The Van Gogh Studio Video Upscaler is designed for this exact task, and it integrates with a broader AI video suite.

Step-by-Step Workflow: Upscaling Your WooCommerce Video

Here’s a simple, repeatable process to upscale your product videos using the Video Upscaler.

Step 1: Prepare Your Source Video

Before you upscale, make sure your source video is the best it can be. If you’re using AI-generated footage, export it at the highest resolution available. If you’re using phone footage, clean up any shaky parts or trim unnecessary sections. The upscaler works best when the input is already decent.

Step 2: Access the Video Upscaler

Go to the Video Upscaler page on the Van Gogh Studio site. You’ll need a free account to start. New accounts receive 21 signup credits, and no credit card is required. This is enough to test the workflow on a short clip.

Step 3: Upload Your Video

Click the upload button and select your video file. The platform supports common formats like MP4 and MOV. If you have a product URL, you can also use the Link to Video feature to generate a video from a URL, but for upscaling, you’ll upload a file.

Step 4: Choose Upscaling Settings

After uploading, you’ll see options for upscaling. The exact settings may vary depending on the model and current platform features. Typically, you can select the target resolution (e.g., 2x or 4x) and possibly adjust other parameters. For WooCommerce, 2x is often sufficient for web use, but if you plan to use the video in large ads or on TV, go for 4x.

Step 5: Generate and Preview

Click the generate button. The processing time depends on the video length and the model used. Once done, you’ll get a preview. Check the sharpness and detail. If it’s not enough, you can adjust settings and try again.

Step 6: Download and Implement

When you’re satisfied, download the upscaled video. Then upload it to your WooCommerce media library and use it in your product pages, banners, or ads. Remember to compress the file appropriately for web use to keep page load times fast.

Tips for Best Results

Start with the highest quality source: The upscaler can enhance, but it can’t create detail that isn’t there. Use the best export settings from your AI generator or camera.
Keep videos short: For product pages, 15-30 seconds is ideal. Shorter videos also process faster and use fewer credits.
Use consistent lighting: If you’re shooting with a phone, ensure good lighting to reduce noise, which the upscaler might amplify.
Test on a short clip first: Before upscaling your entire video, test on a 5-second clip to see the quality and credit cost.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Upscaling low-quality footage too much: If your source is very low resolution, upscaling to 4x might look worse. Start with 2x and see.
Ignoring file size: Upscaled videos can be large. Use a compression tool or export in a web-friendly format to avoid slowing down your store.
Forgetting to check the live model selector: The platform offers multiple AI models, and availability and parameters can change. Always check the current options in the model selector.
Not using the free credits wisely: You have 21 credits to start. Use them to test different settings before committing to a paid plan.
