Facebook ads often need more than a quick 6-second clip. When you're selling a product with multiple benefits, telling a story, or explaining a process, a longer video gives you room to build trust and show value. But long videos also come with risks: viewers drop off, pacing feels off, or the video looks like a slideshow. This guide walks through a practical workflow for creating long-form video ads using a long video generator, with a quality checklist at each step.

Why Use a Long Video Generator for Facebook Ads?

Most AI video tools generate short clips—usually a few seconds long. To make a longer ad, you'd have to stitch many clips together manually, which is time-consuming and often results in jarring transitions. A long video generator solves this by producing a cohesive, longer narrative in one go. It's ideal for product explainers, customer testimonials, or brand stories that need 30 seconds to 2 minutes of runtime.

Compared to hiring a video editor or shooting footage, an AI generator is faster and cheaper. You can iterate on scripts and visuals without reshooting. However, quality depends on how you plan and prompt the tool. The checklist below helps you avoid common pitfalls and get a polished result.

Step-by-Step Workflow for a Quality Long Video

Step 1: Define Your Core Message and Structure

Before you open any tool, write a clear script. For a Facebook ad, you typically have 3–5 seconds to hook the viewer. Structure your video like this:

Hook (0–5s): Grab attention with a bold statement, question, or visual.
Problem (5–15s): Show the pain point your product solves.
Solution (15–30s): Introduce your product as the answer.
Proof (30–45s): Include a testimonial, demo, or key feature.
Call to Action (last 5s): Tell viewers what to do next (e.g., "Shop Now").

Keep your script under 150 words for a 60-second video. Write in plain language, and avoid jargon.

Step 2: Choose the Right Model and Settings

In the long video generator, you'll see a model selector. Different models handle motion, realism, and style differently. For Facebook ads, you want a model that produces smooth motion and clear text rendering (if you include on-screen text). Check the live model selector for current options—availability and parameters change.

Set your aspect ratio to 1:1 or 9:16 for mobile-friendly ads. Choose a resolution that matches your budget and platform requirements. Keep in mind that higher resolution and longer duration will use more credits.

Step 3: Write a Detailed Prompt

Your prompt is the blueprint for the video. Be specific about the scene, action, camera movement, and mood. For example:

"A close-up of a person's hands unboxing a sleek smartphone, the camera slowly zooms in on the screen, bright natural lighting, background is a modern kitchen, cinematic depth of field, realistic textures, smooth motion."

Include style cues like "cinematic," "clean," or "warm" to guide the visual tone. If you have a brand style, mention colors and lighting.

Step 4: Generate and Review the First Draft

Generate your video and watch it end-to-end. Note any issues: flickering, warped faces, unnatural motion, or text that looks garbled. Most AI videos have minor artifacts, but if they're distracting, you'll need to regenerate or edit.

Use the platform's built-in tools to refine. You can extend the video, upscale it, or apply effects to enhance quality. If a specific segment is bad, consider generating a shorter clip for that part and splicing it in later.

Step 5: Add Text Overlays and Captions

Facebook ads often perform better with captions because many users watch without sound. Add text overlays for key points, but keep them short. Use the AI Video Studio to add text, or export the video and edit in a tool like CapCut. Ensure text is legible on mobile screens and doesn't cover important visuals.

Step 6: Test and Iterate

Generate two or three variations with different hooks or pacing. Run them as A/B tests on Facebook to see which performs best. Use the platform's analytics to track watch time and click-through rates. Iterate based on data.

Reusable Prompts and Parameter Tips

Here are three prompt templates you can adapt:

Product Demo: "A [product] on a clean white table, rotating slowly, soft shadows, studio lighting, 4K quality, smooth motion."
Testimonial Style: "A person talking to the camera, smiling, sitting in a bright living room, natural light, shallow depth of field, realistic skin texture."
Storytelling: "A person walking through a city street, looking at their phone, then smiling, the camera follows them, cinematic color grading, slow motion."

Parameter tips:

Use a lower resolution for faster generation, then upscale if needed.
If you need a specific duration, plan your script to fit that length.
For motion control, use the platform's motion brush or camera movement settings if available.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Ignoring the hook: If the first 3 seconds are boring, viewers scroll past. Start with a strong visual or statement.
Overloading with text: Too much on-screen text overwhelms viewers. Keep it minimal.
Unnatural motion: AI videos can have jittery movements. Choose models known for smooth motion, and avoid prompts with fast action.
Not checking audio: If you add voiceover or music, ensure it's licensed and mixed well. The generator may not include audio, so plan to add it later.
Forgetting the CTA: End with a clear call to action. Don't let the video just fade out.
