Creating video ads for LinkedIn can feel like a heavy lift—scripting, filming, editing, and optimizing for the platform’s professional audience. But in 2026, AI video generators have changed the game. You can now turn a simple text prompt or a product URL into a polished, ad-ready video in minutes. This guide walks you through a practical workflow using Van Gogh Studio (FreeVideoGenerator) and its AI Video Studio, so you can produce LinkedIn ads that look native and perform without a production team.

Why Use an AI Video Generator for LinkedIn Ads?

LinkedIn users expect a certain polish—slick visuals, clear messaging, and a professional tone. Traditional video production is expensive and slow. AI video generators let you iterate quickly: test multiple hooks, styles, and lengths without reshooting. You can also repurpose existing product pages or images into video, which is ideal for B2B marketers who need to scale creative.

When comparing approaches, you have three main options:

Text-to-video: Type a script or description, and the AI generates a video from scratch.
Image-to-video: Upload a product shot or logo, and the AI animates it.
Link-to-video: Paste a product URL, and the AI extracts key details to create an ad.

Each has its strengths. For LinkedIn, text-to-video works well for thought leadership or explainer-style ads, while link-to-video is perfect for product demos or case studies. The AI Video Studio on Van Gogh Studio supports all these methods, so you can choose what fits your campaign.

Step-by-Step Workflow with AI Video Studio

Here’s a proven workflow to create a LinkedIn ad video using Van Gogh Studio’s AI Video Studio. You’ll need a free account (you get 21 signup credits, no credit card required).

Step 1: Define Your Ad Objective and Audience

Before generating anything, clarify your goal. Are you driving webinar sign-ups, promoting a whitepaper, or building brand awareness? Your objective determines the script and visual style. For LinkedIn, keep it professional—think clean backgrounds, corporate colors, and a clear value proposition.

Step 2: Write a Detailed Prompt

The AI responds to specifics. Instead of “make a video about our software,” try:

“A 15-second video ad for a B2B project management tool. Show a diverse team collaborating on a digital dashboard. Text overlay: ‘Streamline your workflow.’ Background: modern office. Tone: confident, professional.”

Include aspect ratio (LinkedIn prefers landscape 1.91:1 or square 1:1), duration, and any brand colors. The more detail, the better the output.

Step 3: Generate Your Video in AI Video Studio

Go to the AI Video Studio and select your preferred model (availability varies—check the live selector). Paste your prompt, choose the aspect ratio and duration, and click generate. Each video typically costs around 10 credits, but actual cost depends on model and settings. Your 21 free credits let you test a few variations.

Step 4: Review and Iterate

Once generated, watch the video critically. Does it match your brand? Is the message clear? If not, tweak your prompt—add more specific actions, change the setting, or adjust the tone. Generate a few versions to compare. The AI Video Studio makes it easy to iterate without burning through your budget.

Step 5: Add Finishing Touches (Optional)

If you want to enhance the video, use the studio’s effects, motion control, or upscaler. For example, you can add a subtle zoom to emphasize a product feature or upscale to 4K for crispness on LinkedIn’s player. These tools are built into the same interface, so you don’t need external software.

Step 6: Export and Upload to LinkedIn

Once satisfied, export the video in the recommended format (MP4 works best). Then upload it to LinkedIn Campaign Manager, add your targeting, and launch. Remember to include captions—many users watch without sound.

Reusable Prompts and Parameter Tips

Here are three prompts you can adapt for your LinkedIn ads:

Product Demo: “A 20-second video showing a close-up of [product name] being used by a professional. Text overlay: ‘See how [product] saves you 5 hours a week.’ Background: clean office. Style: realistic.”
Thought Leadership: “A 10-second video of a confident speaker in a modern studio. Text overlay: ‘The future of [industry] is here.’ Tone: inspiring, minimal.”
Event Promotion: “A 15-second video with animated graphics of a calendar and location pin. Text overlay: ‘Join us at [event] – Register now.’ Style: corporate, blue and white.”

Parameter tips:

Aspect ratio: Use 1.91:1 for landscape or 1:1 for square. Avoid vertical unless you’re targeting mobile-only.
Duration: Keep it under 30 seconds—LinkedIn users scroll fast.
Model selection: Different models excel at different styles. Check the live model selector for options like Kling, Sora 2, or Veo 3.1, and test which fits your brand.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Vague prompts: “Make a video about our service” yields generic results. Always include setting, actions, and text overlays.
Ignoring aspect ratio: LinkedIn crops videos that don’t match standard ratios. Stick to 1.91:1 or 1:1.
Skipping captions: Many LinkedIn users watch without sound. Add captions or use text overlays in your prompt.
Overcomplicating: Don’t try to cram too much information. One clear message per video.
Forgetting to check model availability: Not all models are available for all parameters. Always verify in the live selector.
