If you build templates, courses, or digital products in Notion, you know the struggle: you have a great page, but turning it into a video that grabs attention feels like a separate job. You could screen-record your screen, add captions, and pray the pacing works. Or you could paste a URL and let AI handle the heavy lifting.

This guide shows you a practical workflow using FreeVideoGenerator's Link to Video feature. You'll learn how to turn a Notion page or product URL into a short, effect-rich video that works for social ads, YouTube Shorts, or a landing page hero.

Why Link to Video Beats Screen Recording

Screen recording is fine for internal demos, but it rarely converts. The video is long, the cursor jumps around, and there's no hook. Editing tools like CapCut or Premiere give you control, but they add hours to your week.

Link to Video is different. You paste a URL—your Notion page, a product page, a blog post—and the platform generates a video script, visuals, and voiceover automatically. You can then apply video effects, adjust the pacing, and export in a format that fits your channel.

For Notion creators, this is a game-changer. You can turn a template showcase into a 30-second ad without touching a timeline.

Step-by-Step: Turn a Notion URL into a Video with Effects

Here's the exact workflow I use. It takes about 10 minutes once you've done it a few times.

Step 1: Prepare Your Notion Page

Your URL should be public. In Notion, click Share and set the link to Anyone with the link. If your page is a template, make sure the content is clean: a clear headline, a few bullet points, and maybe an image. The AI reads the text, so avoid walls of text.

Pro tip: Create a dedicated landing page for the video. Include a strong hook in the first sentence—something like "The Ultimate Notion Dashboard for Freelancers."

Step 2: Open Link to Video

Go to FreeVideoGenerator's Link to Video. Paste your Notion URL into the input field. You'll see a preview of the extracted content.

Step 3: Choose Your Video Style and Effects

The platform lets you pick a style (e.g., modern, playful, corporate) and a set of video effects. For Notion content, I recommend the Clean or Tech style. Effects like subtle zooms, transitions, and text overlays work well.

You can also select the aspect ratio—16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Reels/Shorts, or 1:1 for feeds.

Step 4: Generate and Review

Click Generate. The AI will create a draft video with a voiceover, background music, and the effects you chose. This usually takes a few minutes. Once it's done, review the video.

Step 5: Customize with the Video Editor

If the draft isn't perfect, you can edit it. Change the voiceover, swap the music, adjust the text overlays, or add more effects. The editor is intuitive—no timeline experience needed.

Step 6: Export and Share

When you're happy, export the video. You can download it in HD or share it directly to social platforms. Save the project if you want to tweak it later.

Reusable Prompts and Parameter Tips

While Link to Video is automated, you can guide the output with a few tweaks:

Hook first: In your Notion page, put the most compelling benefit in the first 10 words. The AI uses that for the opening line.
Use bullet points: The AI turns bullet points into scene descriptions. Keep them short and action-oriented.
Specify the tone: If you want a casual tone, write your page in a conversational style. For a professional tone, use formal language.
Choose the right aspect ratio: For TikTok/Reels, pick 9:16. For YouTube, 16:9. For embedded on your site, 1:1 or 16:9.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Private Notion pages: If the URL isn't public, the AI can't access it. Double-check your share settings.
Too much text: The AI summarizes, but if your page is 5,000 words, the video will be too long. Trim your page to the essentials.
Ignoring the effects: Effects make the video feel polished. Don't skip them—choose at least a few subtle ones.
Not reviewing the output: AI isn't perfect. Always watch the draft and make edits. A 30-second tweak can save you from a cringe-worthy post.
