AI Video for Ecommerce Quick Start for Auto Dealerships: Step-by-Step Guide

Auto dealerships face a unique challenge: you have a lot of inventory, but creating a video for every car is time-consuming and expensive. Traditional video production requires a crew, a shoot location, and hours of editing. That's why many dealerships are turning to AI video generation. With the right tool, you can turn a simple product URL into a polished video ad in minutes, without any video editing skills.

In this guide, you'll learn how to use Van Gogh Studio (also known as FreeVideoGenerator) to create AI videos for your auto dealership. We'll cover the workflow from start to finish, including tips for getting the best results and common pitfalls to avoid.

Why AI Video for Auto Dealerships?

Before diving into the steps, let's compare the traditional approach with AI video generation.

Traditional video production:

• Requires a videographer, lighting, and a location.
• Takes days or weeks to produce a single video.
• Costs hundreds or thousands of dollars per video.

AI video generation:

• Uses text, images, or product URLs to generate video.
• Produces a video in minutes.
• Costs just a few credits per video (typically around 10 credits, depending on model and settings).

For a dealership with dozens of cars, AI video is a game-changer. You can create a video for every vehicle in your inventory, personalize them for different audiences, and update them as inventory changes.

Step-by-Step Workflow with Van Gogh Studio

Here's how to create an AI video for your auto dealership using the AI Video Studio.

Step 1: Sign Up and Get Your Free Credits

Go to freevideogenerator.io and create a free account. New accounts receive 21 signup credits, and you don't need a credit card to start. These credits are enough to generate a couple of videos and test the workflow.

Step 2: Choose Your Input Method

In the AI Video Studio, you have several options for creating a video:

• Text-to-Video: Describe the car and the scene you want.
• Image-to-Video: Upload a photo of the car and animate it.
• Link to Video: Paste the URL of the car's listing page, and the platform will extract relevant content to generate a video.

For a quick start, the Link to Video feature is ideal because it automates the process. However, if you have high-quality photos, image-to-video might give you more control.

Step 3: Enter Your Prompt or URL

If you're using text-to-video, write a detailed prompt. For example:

"A 2023 Ford Mustang GT in race red, parked in a modern showroom with dramatic lighting, camera slowly orbiting the car, showing the sleek design and glossy paint."

If you're using Link to Video, simply paste the URL of the car's page. The platform will analyze the page and generate a video based on the content.

Step 4: Select Your Model and Parameters

Van Gogh Studio gives you access to multiple AI models, including Kling, Sora 2, Veo 3.1, Runway, Wan, Seedance, and more. The availability and parameters may vary, so check the live model selector for current options. You can adjust settings like duration, resolution, and aspect ratio, but keep in mind that these affect the credit cost.

Step 5: Generate and Review

Click generate and wait for the video to be created. The time may vary depending on the model and complexity. Once it's ready, review the video. If it's not perfect, you can iterate by tweaking your prompt or using the video extend and upscale features to improve quality.

Step 6: Download and Use

Once you're satisfied, download the video and use it in your marketing campaigns. You can post it on social media, embed it on your website, or use it in paid ads.

Reusable Prompts and Tips

Here are some prompts and tips to get the best results for auto dealership videos:

• Highlight the car's best features: Mention the make, model, color, and key selling points like "leather interior" or "panoramic sunroof."
• Set the scene: Describe the environment, such as "on a scenic coastal road" or "in a modern dealership showroom."
• Use motion cues: Words like "camera panning," "slow zoom," or "drone shot" can help the AI generate dynamic footage.
• Keep it concise: A clear, focused prompt often yields better results than a long, rambling one.

Example prompt for a truck:

"A 2024 Ford F-150 in metallic gray, driving off-road on a dusty trail, dust kicking up behind the wheels, camera following from the side, golden hour lighting."

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

• Ignoring the credit cost: Each video uses about 10 credits, but the exact cost depends on the model, duration, resolution, and output type. Keep an eye on your credit balance.
• Using low-quality images: If you're using image-to-video, make sure the image is high-resolution and well-lit. Blurry or dark photos will result in poor videos.
• Overcomplicating the prompt: Too many details can confuse the AI. Stick to the essential elements.
• Not checking model availability: Some models may not be available for all features or at all times. Always check the live model selector.
