2. Preview stretch
Upload an image to see a live before-and-after preview from this image stretcher.
Need an image stretcher that works instantly? This browser-based tool lets you stretch photos horizontally for banners, vertically for stories, or into preset ratios like 1:1, 16:9, and 9:16 — without cropping away parts of the picture.
See how a portrait photo becomes a widescreen frame — the same stretch this image stretcher applies to your own uploads.
Original
480 × 640 px
16:9 Widescreen
Output
480 × 270 px
A 480×640 portrait photo stretched to 480×270 (16:9). Width stays the same; height compresses to match the widescreen ratio — ideal for slides, thumbnails, and banners.
Start with a preset when you know the shape, or enter exact pixel values when a platform asks for a fixed frame.
Profile images, product cards, thumbnails, and simple listing boxes.
Slides, video thumbnails, landscape banners, and desktop previews.
Vertical posts, phone wallpapers, and story-style layouts.
Feed posts and taller listing images without cutting off the top or bottom.
Cropping removes parts of an image. Stretching keeps the full image visible while changing the shape.
Make a photo wider for banners, slides, thumbnails, or headers. Keep height stable and increase width — preview distortion before saving.
Make a photo taller for stories, posters, wallpapers, or portrait frames. Keep width stable and increase height.
Start with 1:1 square, 16:9 widescreen, 9:16 story, or 4:5 portrait when you know the target shape.
Switch to resize mode for proportional scaling without visible stretching — useful when distortion is too strong.
Changes width and height independently — can make the image look wider or taller. Best for quick frame fixes.
Scales the image while keeping proportions. Available here through resize mode.
Removes edges to fit a target frame. Use our crop tool when composition matters more than keeping every pixel.
Drop a JPG, PNG, or WebP file. Processing runs in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
Enter width and height, pick a ratio preset, or switch to resize mode. Drag the preview to compare before and after.
Choose PNG, JPG, or WebP and save the stretched output.
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image, enter a new width or height, preview the stretched result, and download when it looks right.
Yes. Increase the width while keeping the height the same, or choose a wider ratio such as 16:9. The preview shows the change before download.
Yes. Increase the height while keeping the width the same, or choose a taller ratio such as 9:16 or 4:5.
Yes. Upload a supported image, preview the size change, and download from your browser required.
Stretching changes the shape of the original pixels, so distortion can appear when the new size is very different. Use the preview to check before downloading.
No. This tool uses browser canvas for preview and download. Your files never leave your device.
A stretcher changes the shape of pixels already in your image. An AI extender creates new content around the image. This tool is a pixel stretcher, not an AI extender.
