UGC Ad Video Using Product Photos for Local Business: A Practical Workflow

Local businesses often struggle to produce authentic-looking UGC (user-generated content) ads because they lack the time, budget, or creators to film real customer testimonials. But you don't need a camera crew or influencers. With Van Gogh Studio (FreeVideoGenerator), you can turn your existing product photos into UGC-style ad videos that feel native to Meta and TikTok feeds. This guide walks you through a practical workflow that uses your product images as the raw material for a scroll-stopping ad.

Why Product Photos Are Enough for UGC Ads

UGC ads don't have to be shot on a phone by a real person. The style—casual framing, natural lighting, and a personal touch—can be simulated with AI. By using your product photos, you keep the ad grounded in reality: the actual product, packaging, and environment. This is especially effective for local businesses like coffee shops, boutiques, or service providers, where authenticity drives trust.

Compared to hiring a local creator (which can cost hundreds per video) or filming yourself (which takes time and equipment), an AI-driven approach is faster and cheaper. You can iterate on multiple versions in minutes, testing different hooks and angles without additional production costs.

Step-by-Step Workflow: From Photos to UGC Ad Video

Step 1: Gather Your Best Product Photos

Start with 3–5 high-quality images of your product. They should be well-lit, in focus, and show the product from different angles. For a local business, include shots that show context—like the product on a counter, in a customer's hand, or in your storefront. Avoid cluttered backgrounds unless they add authenticity.

Step 2: Open the UGC Ad Video Tool

Navigate to the UGC Ad Video page on Van Gogh Studio. This feature is designed specifically for creating UGC-style ads for platforms like Meta and TikTok. You'll see options to upload images or use the Link to Video feature if you have a product page URL.

Step 3: Upload Your Photos and Set the Scene

Upload your chosen images. The tool will use them as the visual base for your video. You can also add a text prompt to guide the AI on the style, motion, and narrative. For a UGC feel, describe a casual, handheld camera movement and a natural setting.

Step 4: Write a UGC-Style Prompt

Your prompt is the script for the AI. It should describe the scene, the action, and the mood. Keep it conversational and specific. For example:

"A person's hand picks up a coffee cup from a wooden table in a cozy café. The camera is slightly shaky, as if held by a customer. Natural window light. The cup has the café's logo. The background shows a chalkboard menu."

Step 5: Generate and Review

Click generate. The AI will produce a short video clip (typically a few seconds). Review it for quality and relevance. You may need to regenerate a few times to get the right motion or framing. Don't worry about perfection—you can edit later.

Step 6: Add Effects and Polish

Once you have a base video, you can enhance it with effects from the AI Video Studio. Add subtle motion, color grading, or text overlays to make it more engaging. For UGC, keep it raw—avoid heavy filters that make it look too polished.

Step 7: Export and Use in Ads

Export your video in the appropriate format for your ad platform. You can then upload it to Meta Ads Manager or TikTok Ads. Test different versions to see which resonates with your audience.

Reusable Prompts and Parameter Tips

Here are three prompt templates you can adapt for your local business:

1. Product in Use: "A close-up of [product] being used by a person in a [setting]. The camera is handheld, with natural movement. Soft, warm lighting. The person's hands are visible, but not the face."

2. Customer Perspective: "First-person view of holding [product] and showing it to the camera. The background is a [location]. The video has a casual, vlog-style feel."

3. Before/After: "A split-screen effect showing [product] before and after use. The left side is dull, the right side is vibrant. The camera pans slowly."

Parameter Tips:

• Use a resolution that matches your ad platform's requirements (e.g., 1080x1920 for stories).
• Keep the video short—15 seconds or less for most ads.
• If you want a specific aspect ratio, check the model selector for available options.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

• Using low-quality images: Blurry or poorly lit photos will result in a subpar video. Invest in good photos.
• Overcomplicating the prompt: Too many details can confuse the AI. Stick to the essentials.
• Ignoring the platform: A video that works on TikTok may not work on Facebook. Tailor your aspect ratio and length.
• Not testing multiple versions: UGC ads thrive on variety. Create at least 3 variations to test.
• Forgetting to add captions: Many users watch without sound. Add text overlays to convey your message.
