Selling cars online in 2026 means your dealership’s video content has to move as fast as your inventory. Static photos and generic stock footage no longer cut it. Buyers expect to see every trim, feature, and angle of a vehicle before they even step onto the lot. But producing high-quality video for every car in your inventory is expensive and time-consuming.

That’s where AI video generation changes the game. Instead of hiring a film crew or spending hours editing, you can turn a simple product URL or a few images into a polished, ad-ready video in minutes. This guide walks you through a practical workflow using the AI Video Studio at FreeVideoGenerator (Van Gogh Studio) to create auto dealership videos that are ready for your ecommerce site, social media, and paid ads.

Why AI Video for Auto Dealerships?

Traditional video production for a dealership involves scheduling shoots, coordinating lighting, and editing hours of footage. For a single vehicle, that can cost hundreds of dollars and take days. With AI video, you can generate a professional-looking video from a product page URL or a set of images in a fraction of the time and cost.

The key advantage is scalability. Whether you have 10 cars or 100, you can produce consistent, on-brand videos for every listing. Plus, AI video tools allow you to iterate quickly—if you want a different angle, a different background, or a different pacing, you can regenerate in minutes.

Step-by-Step Workflow with AI Video Studio

Here’s how to create an auto dealership AI video for ecommerce using the AI Video Studio at FreeVideoGenerator.

Step 1: Gather Your Source Material

You have two main options for your source material:

Product URL: If you have a live product page for the car (e.g., on your dealership’s website), you can use the Link to Video feature to turn that URL into a video. This is the fastest way to get started.
Images: If you have high-quality photos of the car (exterior, interior, dashboard, etc.), you can use image-to-video. Make sure the images are clear, well-lit, and show the car from multiple angles.

For best results, use a mix of both: start with a product URL for the main video, then use images for specific feature highlights.

Step 2: Choose Your Model and Settings

In the AI Video Studio, you’ll see a model selector. The platform gives you access to multiple AI models like Kling, Sora 2, Veo 3.1, Runway, Wan, and Seedance. Each model has different strengths—some are better at realistic motion, others at stylized effects. For auto dealership videos, you’ll want a model that excels at realistic rendering and smooth camera movement.

Check the live model selector to see which models are currently available and what parameters they support. You can also adjust resolution, duration, and aspect ratio—for ecommerce, a 16:9 landscape format works well for website embeds, while 9:16 is ideal for TikTok and Reels.

Step 3: Add Motion and Effects

The AI Video Studio includes 100+ effects and motion control options. For a car video, consider adding a subtle camera pan or zoom to make the video feel dynamic. You can also use effects like a background blur or a color grade to match your dealership’s branding.

If you’re using a product URL, the Link to Video feature will automatically extract the key visuals from the page, but you can still apply effects to enhance the final output.

Step 4: Generate and Review

Once you’ve set your parameters, hit generate. The platform will use your credits (new accounts get 21 signup credits, no credit card required) to create the video. Typical usage is around 10 credits per video, but that can vary based on the model, duration, and resolution you choose.

Review the generated video. If it’s not perfect, you can tweak the prompt or settings and regenerate. The AI Video Studio is designed for iteration, so don’t be afraid to experiment.

Step 5: Extend or Upscale

If you need a longer video for a specific platform, use the video extend feature to add more duration. If you need higher resolution for a large display, use the upscaler. These tools are built into the studio, so you don’t have to switch to another app.

Step 6: Export and Publish

Once you’re happy with the video, export it in the format you need. Then upload it to your ecommerce platform, social channels, or ad manager. You can also use the AI Clip Generator to create shorter versions for different placements.

Reusable Prompts and Parameter Tips

Here are a few prompts you can use as a starting point for your auto dealership videos:

For a product URL: "Create a dynamic video showcasing the exterior and interior of this car, with smooth camera movements and a clean background."
For an image: "Animate this image to show the car driving on a scenic road, with the camera following the vehicle."
For a feature highlight: "Zoom in on the dashboard and show the touchscreen interface, with a soft lighting effect."

Parameter tips:

Use a 16:9 aspect ratio for website embeds and YouTube.
Use 9:16 for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
Keep the duration between 5-15 seconds for social media ads.
Choose a model known for realistic motion if you want the car to look like it’s actually moving.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Using low-quality images: If your source images are blurry or poorly lit, the AI will amplify those flaws. Always start with the best photos you have.
Ignoring model differences: Not all models are the same. Some may produce more realistic results, while others might have a more stylized look. Test a few to see which fits your brand.
Overcomplicating the prompt: Keep your prompts simple and focused. Too many instructions can confuse the AI and result in a messy video.
Forgetting to check credit costs: Different models and settings can cost more credits. Keep an eye on your balance and adjust your parameters if needed.

AI Text/Image to Video: If you don’t have a product URL, you can generate video from text or images.
Link to Video: Turn any product page URL into a video automatically.
Pricing: Check the latest plans and credit allowances to choose the best option for your dealership.
