LinkedIn ads that feature a talking presenter often outperform static images, but recording a professional spokesperson for every product is expensive and slow. With an AI avatar video, you can turn a simple product URL into a polished ad creative in minutes—no camera, no studio, no actor. This guide walks you through a practical workflow using Van Gogh Studio (FreeVideoGenerator) to create avatar videos that feel native to LinkedIn's professional audience.

Why Use an AI Avatar for LinkedIn Ads?

LinkedIn users expect a certain level of polish. A well-delivered script with a realistic avatar can convey trust and authority, especially for B2B products. The AI Avatar feature on Van Gogh Studio lets you generate talking-head videos with multiple voice options, so you can match the tone of your brand. Instead of hiring a voice actor or filming yourself, you can produce a consistent, on-brand presenter for every ad variant.

Step-by-Step Workflow: From Product URL to Avatar Video

Here’s how to create an AI avatar video using a product URL, step by step.

Step 1: Prepare Your Product URL and Script

Start with a clean, public product URL—ideally a landing page that clearly describes the product’s value. Your script should be short (30–60 seconds when spoken) and focused on one key benefit. For LinkedIn, a professional, concise tone works best. Write the script in a text file so you can paste it later.

Step 2: Generate a Video from the Product URL (Optional)

If you want to include product visuals, you can first use the Link to Video feature to generate a short product demo clip. This is optional but can make your avatar video more dynamic. Go to the Link to Video tool, paste your product URL, and generate a base video. Save the output for later use.

Step 3: Open the AI Avatar Tool

Navigate to the AI Avatar page on Van Gogh Studio. You’ll see options to choose an avatar, select a voice, and input your script. If you generated a product video in the previous step, you can use it as a background or as a separate clip to edit later.

Step 4: Choose Your Avatar and Voice

Pick an avatar that fits your brand—professional, friendly, or authoritative. Then select a voice that matches the avatar’s appearance. The platform offers multiple voice options; listen to a few samples to find the right tone. For LinkedIn, a clear, neutral accent often works best.

Step 5: Input Your Script and Generate

Paste your script into the text box. Keep it under 150 words for a 60-second video. Adjust any settings like aspect ratio (LinkedIn recommends 1:1 or 4:5 for feed ads) and resolution. Then hit generate. The platform will process your request; typical standard usage costs around 10 credits per video, but the exact cost depends on model and settings.

Step 6: Edit and Enhance (Optional)

Once your avatar video is generated, you can enhance it using the AI Video Studio. Add captions, apply effects, or extend the video if needed. You can also combine the avatar video with your product clip using the long video tool to create a longer ad for LinkedIn’s video ads.

Step 7: Export and Upload to LinkedIn

Export your final video in a format compatible with LinkedIn (MP4 is standard). Then upload it to your LinkedIn Campaign Manager as a video ad. Make sure to include a clear call-to-action in your ad copy, and test different avatar/voice combinations to see what resonates.

Reusable Prompts and Parameter Tips

While the AI Avatar tool doesn’t require complex prompts, you can use these tips to get better results:

Script prompt: Write a script that starts with a hook, states the problem, presents your product as the solution, and ends with a CTA. For example: "Are you tired of manual reporting? Our tool automates it in seconds. Try it free today."
Voice selection: Choose a voice that matches your brand’s persona. For B2B, a calm, confident voice works well. For a younger audience, a more energetic voice might be better.
Aspect ratio: For LinkedIn feed ads, use 1:1 (square) or 4:5 (vertical). For in-stream video ads, 16:9 is standard. Check the platform’s current specs before exporting.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Ignoring script length: If your script is too long, the avatar may speak too fast or the video becomes too long. Keep it under 150 words for a 60-second video.
Using a low-quality product URL: If the URL is not public or has poor content, the Link to Video feature may generate irrelevant visuals. Use a clean, well-designed landing page.
Forgetting to review the video: Always preview the generated video. AI avatars can sometimes mispronounce words or have unnatural pauses. Regenerate if needed.
Not testing variations: Don’t settle on the first avatar/voice combo. Test 2–3 variations to see which performs best on LinkedIn.

Long Video: Combine multiple clips into a longer ad for LinkedIn’s video formats.
AI Video Studio: Add effects, captions, and motion control to your avatar video.
Pricing: Check current plans and credits to choose the right tier for your ad production needs.
