If you sell on Amazon, you know that product videos can make or break a listing. But often, the footage you have—shot on a phone or pulled from an AI generator—isn't sharp enough for the detail-hungry zoom on Amazon's product pages. Blurry videos reduce trust and conversions. The solution is a video upscaler that enhances resolution without the need for expensive reshoots. In this guide, you'll learn how to use Van Gogh Studio's Video Upscaler to turn low-res clips into crisp, professional product videos that help your listing stand out.

Why Upscale Your Amazon Product Videos?

Amazon's video player supports high resolutions, and customers expect to see product details clearly. If your video is soft or pixelated, it looks unprofessional and can hurt your click-through rate. Upscaling your footage to a higher resolution—like 4K—makes textures, labels, and colors pop. It also future-proofs your content for larger displays and zoom features.

Video Upscaler vs. Other Methods

You might consider re-shooting your product videos, but that's time-consuming and costly. Alternatively, you could use a generic video editor's upscale feature, but those often produce blurry results. Van Gogh Studio's Video Upscaler uses AI to enhance detail and reduce artifacts, giving you a cleaner image than traditional interpolation. It's a quick, cost-effective way to improve existing footage.

Step-by-Step Workflow: Upscaling Your Amazon Product Video

Here's how to upscale your product video using Van Gogh Studio's Video Upscaler:

Step 1: Prepare Your Source Video

Start with the highest quality version of your video that you have. Even if it's 720p or 1080p, the upscaler works best with a clean source. Avoid heavily compressed files, as they may have artifacts that the AI can't fully remove. If your video is a screen recording or an AI-generated clip, make sure it's exported in a standard format like MP4.

Step 2: Upload Your Video to the Video Upscaler

Go to the Video Upscaler page and upload your file. The interface is straightforward—just drag and drop or browse your computer. There's no need to create an account first, but you'll need one to save your work. New users get 21 signup credits, so you can try the upscaler without a credit card.

Step 3: Choose Your Upscaling Settings

After uploading, you'll see options for output resolution and quality. Select the target resolution that matches your needs—typically 4K for Amazon listings. You can also adjust the enhancement level if you want to preserve the original look or push for more sharpness. The exact settings may vary, so check the live interface for available options.

Step 4: Run the Upscale and Preview

Click the upscale button and wait for the AI to process your video. The time depends on the length and resolution, but it's usually quick. Once done, you'll see a preview. Play it to check the sharpness and detail. If you're satisfied, download the upscaled version. If not, you can tweak the settings and try again.

Step 5: Integrate the Upscaled Video into Your Amazon Listing

Now that you have a high-resolution video, upload it to your Amazon product page. Make sure it meets Amazon's technical requirements, such as file size and format. You can also use the upscaled video in other marketing channels, like social media or your website.

Prompts and Parameter Tips

While the Video Upscaler is a one-click tool, you can optimize your results with these tips:

Use a clean source: The AI works best with footage that isn't overly compressed or noisy. If possible, export your original video in a high bitrate.
Choose the right resolution: Upscaling to 4K is great for Amazon, but if your source is very low-res, you might see diminishing returns. Start with a moderate upscale and check the quality.
Combine with other tools: If your video is too short, use the Video Extend feature to lengthen it before upscaling. You can also add motion effects with Motion Control to make your product video more dynamic.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Upscaling a heavily compressed video: If your source has visible blocky artifacts, upscaling won't fix them. Try to obtain a cleaner version.
Over-sharpening: Some upscalers add too much contrast, making the video look unnatural. Use a moderate enhancement level.
Ignoring aspect ratio: Amazon supports various aspect ratios, but ensure your upscaled video matches the intended display. Check the output settings.
Skipping the preview: Always preview the upscaled video before downloading. What looks good in a thumbnail might have issues in motion.

Van Gogh Studio offers more than just upscaling. To create a complete product video, consider these features:

Video Extend: If your clip is too short, extend it smoothly to fit Amazon's recommended length.
AI Video Studio: Access 100+ effects and editing tools to polish your video further.
Motion Control: Add camera movements or object motion to make your product more engaging.
