If you sell digital products on Gumroad, you know the struggle: you have a short, punchy clip that works for social media, but you need a longer version for a product page, a YouTube ad, or a course intro. Re-shooting isn't practical, and simple looping looks cheap. In 2026, the smart solution is AI video extension—specifically, using a tool that keeps motion consistent while adding seconds or even minutes to your clip.

This guide walks you through extending your Gumroad product videos using Van Gogh Studio's Video Extend feature. You'll learn the exact steps, get reusable prompts, and avoid common pitfalls.

Why Extend Instead of Re-Shoot or Loop?

You have three main options when you need a longer video:

Re-shoot: Expensive, time-consuming, and often impossible if the original footage is from a customer or a stock clip.
Manual loop: Easy but looks repetitive and unprofessional, especially for product demos.
AI video extend: Automatically generates new frames that continue the motion naturally. This is the fastest and most cost-effective method for most creators.

AI extend is particularly useful for Gumroad sellers because it lets you turn a 3-second teaser into a 10-second product showcase without losing the original vibe.

Step-by-Step: Extending Your Video with Van Gogh Studio

Here's how to extend a short clip for your Gumroad product using the Video Extend tool on freevideogenerator.io.

Step 1: Prepare Your Clip

Choose a clip that is at least 2–3 seconds long. The tool works best with clear, stable footage.
Ensure the file is in a common format (MP4, MOV, etc.) and under the platform's size limit.
If your clip is low-resolution, consider upscaling it first using the video upscaler for better results.

Step 2: Navigate to Video Extend

Go to the Video Extend page on the Van Gogh Studio site. You'll see an upload area and a model selector.

Step 3: Upload and Set Parameters

Upload your clip.
Choose the extend duration (e.g., +5 seconds, +10 seconds).
Select a model from the dropdown. Available models may include Kling, Sora 2, Veo 3.1, and others. Check the live model selector for current options and parameters.
Adjust any advanced settings like aspect ratio or motion strength if available.

Step 4: Generate and Review

Click the generate button. The tool will process your clip and produce an extended version. Review the output for motion continuity and visual quality.

Step 5: Download and Use

Once satisfied, download the extended video. You can now upload it to your Gumroad product page, use it in ads, or embed it in your sales page.

Reusable Prompts and Parameter Tips

While Video Extend works automatically, you can improve results with these tips:

Keep the original motion simple: Fast pans or sudden cuts confuse the AI. If possible, use clips with steady movement.
Use a prompt to guide the extension: Some models allow a text prompt for the extended part. For example: "Continue the camera pan to the right, showing the product from a slightly different angle."
Match the lighting and background: The AI will try to match the original, but if the lighting changes drastically, the extension may look off.
Start with a short extension: Try +3 seconds first to see how the model handles your clip, then extend further if needed.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Using a clip that's too short: If your clip is under 2 seconds, the AI may not have enough context to extend naturally.
Ignoring resolution: Low-res clips often produce blurry extensions. Upscale first if needed.
Expecting perfect physics: AI extend is not perfect. Water, hair, and complex motions may glitch. Plan for a few retries.
Forgetting to check the model selector: Different models have different strengths. If one model gives poor results, try another.

Video Upscaler: Improve resolution before extending.
AI Video Studio: Access 100+ effects and editing tools.
Motion Control: Fine-tune camera movements for more control.
